Vision Mechanics is seeking a part-time, freelance Financial Administrator

Vision Mechanics is looking to engage the services of a part-time Financial Administrator, on a freelance basis. The role involves bookkeeping, using a computer accounting system; tracking grant receipts and allocating expenditure; managing invoices and payments; monitoring project budgets; submitting the quarterly VAT return, the Company’s annual return to OSCR and end-of-year administration prior to the Annual Accounts being compiled and independently examined.

The successful candidate would work as part of a small office team consisting of the Artistic Director/CEO and the part-time administrator, reporting to the AD/CEO. Knowledge of an online accounting package is essential. The Company currently uses SAGE 50 Accounting Software. The role will also involve some general administrative tasks.

The role will require you to work between 5-10 hours per week dependent on activities and funding and averaging at 7 hours per week over the year.

Vision Mechanics is a small but ambitious project funded, visual theatre company, led by the artistic team of Symon Macintyre and Kim Bergsagel.  Over the next 2-3 years the Company’s focus will be on the revival of marionette puppetry.

Hours: 5-10 hours per week as required
Contract: Freelance/self-employed engagement
Fee: £20/hour
Location: Vision Mechanics’ office at 81 Great Junction Street, Edinburgh
