Vision Mechanics was recently awarded funding from Creative Scotland’s Quality Production Fund in support of our new production for 2015, Drift.
The production is inspired by real-life survivor, Betty Mouat, who, aged 60, spent 8 days drifting in a boat from the Shetland Islands to Norway.
Drift uses interactive sets, video and puppetry to immerse audiences in the memories and thoughts of a woman alone at sea and explores the theme of human resilience in seemingly hopeless circumstances.
Director, Symon Macintyre and playwright, Judith Adams will collaborate with video artists, designers and composer Eddie McGuire to imagine Betty’s unplanned journey.
We are currently booking an autumn 2015 Scottish tour of the production.
