Giants in the Forest

‘Giants in the Forest’ is a UK wide project that combines art, technology and the natural environment, to inspire creative action. Giant organic heads have been constructed, seeded and suspended in forests across Scotland, England and Wales since 2012. Here they will hang, growing and changing with the seasons.

This national project has seen 37 giant heads constructed, seeded and suspended in trees where they remain, growing and changing with the seasons.

Over 2012 and 2013, thousands of people visited their local forest to see the Giant Heads. Artists, walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and bird watchers – everyone was inspired to get outdoors and get involved. The variety of responses to the Giant Heads was amazing. They inspired film making, musical composition, ghost stories, giant flowers, dragons and unicorns.
