Embrace – our new production for autumn 2014

Vision Mechanics has recently been awarded funding  from Creative Scotland’s Quality Production Programme to stage our ambitious new site-specific touring production, Embrace, in autumn 2014.

Director, Kim Bergsagel’s, development of Embrace was inspired by the activities of the Chipko movement in rural India.

The production uses shadow puppetry, aerial artistry, traditional Indian dance and multi-media installation to explore environmental issues which affected communities in eighteenth century India and which continue to present a global challenge.

The production will feature originally composed live music and song, fusing Western and Indian music styles.

Embrace will be performed in forest settings throughout Scotland.

If you have any queries or might be interested in booking the production, please contact Anne Fleming, Company Manager on anne@visionmechanics.org or 0131 554 8923.
